Next Call of Duty Details

In an analyst conference call held following Activision's announcement of strong fiscal year and quarter financial results, company executives spoke at length about the company's successes and plans for its key franchises - but declined to comment significantly on the upcoming Vivendi merger until the deal is complete. Activision Publishing president and CEO Mike Griffith confirmed that a new Call of Duty game is in the works for this fiscal year, now set in "a new military theater." Early reports have suggested the game is being developed by Call of Duty 3 developer Treyarch.

The title will match Call of Duty 4's platform list of PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, and will add Wii, PlayStation 2, and Nintendo DS.

Rumor: GTA IV will return to San Andreas

Ah, sharp-eyed forums posters. Thank you all. Without your tireless efforts the internet's tubes would be quite empty. One of them over on the GTA Forums was messing around with the Rockstar Social Club and found an interesting item, a plane ticket. For Niko. To San Andreas.

While this of course means nothing concrete (it could simply be a homage) it could refer to the DLC, which mas been rumored to resemble entirely new cities. Unfortunately, unlike real-world airplane tickets, there is no departure date for us to pine over. So, San Andreas DLC? Maybe.

Gore Verbinski to direct Bioshock movie!!!!

Wow. This could turn out to be great news. According to a Variety article, Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean director) has been snagged to direct the movie adaptation of Bioshock. Even better, John Logan, the screenwriter on The Last Samurai, The Aviator, Gladiator and more, is going to be doing the screenplay. AND, the Take Two Chairman, Strauss Zelnick, has supposedly structured the deal in such a way that it actually happens, unlike other notable video games movies that have attempted to run the Hollywood gauntlet. With such a setup as this, we could be looking at the beginnings of the best video game movie ever made. Hmm ... we wonder what Uwe Boll thinks of this?

Ninja Gaiden II Downloads Costumes *OUCH*

May 8, 2008 - Team Ninja has always rewarded gamers with unlockable costumes. Ninja Gaiden on Xbox (and subsequently Ninja Gaiden Black), has several bonus outfits to make re-playing the game just a tad more enjoyable. While Team Ninja hasn't revealed how many costumes are available in NG II, Microsoft announced today that three costume packs will be available only through download on Xbox Live Marketplace.

The three costume packs will be made available in July for 200 Microsoft Points (US$2.50) each. The Falcon costume will be made exclusive to "selected countries" and just 39,000 gamers on launch day as part of pre-order promotions for unspecified retailers. It's unclear if the Falcon costume pack will later be made available for purchase in July.
